Elohim said to the Prophet Ezekiel: Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. Ezekiel 3:17
Ancient societies constructed large watchtowers overlooking their fields, as harvest time grew near, men would stand watch guarding the crops. The watchman played a vital role as the communities’ food supply was at stake. While the watchman stood in the watchtowers they could also observe the daily lives of those below, they could observe the markets and the business that was conducted by the officials.
When I say unto the wicked, you shall surely die; and you give him no warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand. Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turns not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. Ezekiel 3:18-19
Ezekiel was among the captives from the Nation of Judah that was carried away to Babylon during the first siege of Jerusalem in 597 BC. The Nation of Isreal, the Northern Kingdom that consisted of the other 10 tribes was taken captive into Assyria and Media more than 120 years prior. The House of Isreal’s sins had already caused them to go into captivity. They had already begun to receive their punishment. These prophecies were written for a future House of Israel.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bring good tidings, that publishes peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Yahuah reigns! Your watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye when Yahuah shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for Yahuah has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. Yahuah has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our Elohim. Isaiah 52: 7-10
I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: you that make mention of Yahuah, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till He establishes, and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Yahuah has sworn by His Right Hand, and by the Arm of His Strength, Surely I will no more give your corn to be meat for your enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink your wine, for the which you have labored: But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise Yahuah; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness. Go through, go through the gates; prepare you The Way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. Behold, Yahuah has proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say you to the daughter of Zion, Behold, Your salvation (YAHUSHA) cometh; behold, his reward is with Him, and his work before Him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of Yahuah: and you shall be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. Isaiah 62:6-12
Isaiah paints an image of a godly people who are given a unique vision of the world of today and the world that is to come. They understand the universal application of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Yahuah. They see that Yahuah will bring His Kingdom to earth and will offer salvation to all nations. They see the reuniting of the tribes of Israel in the promised lands as the beginning of the times, restoration of all things spoken of by Peter:
Repent you, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of Yahuah. And he shall send Messiah Yahusha, which before was preached to you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which Elohim has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said to the fathers: A prophet shall Yahuah your Elohim raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; He shall you hear in all things whatsoever He shall say to you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which Elohim made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in your seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first Elohim, having raised up His Son Yahuasha, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Acts 3:19-26
The Watchmen have insight into the world at the end of this age. They see the dark clouds gathering on the earth’s horizon that spell out the end of Satan’s reign as the god of this world and the author of all its evils. This leads them to mount the walls of society and shout a warning to any who will hear, to say: Yahuah is sovereign, he will bring a time of judgment in the world to prove that He alone is Elohim. All other gods erected by the people that hide the truth will be destroyed.
